Iron ore resources are the food of iron and steel industry and also the based of national economic construction development. As china's rapid economic development in recent years, the demand of steel rise rapidly, domestic iron ore are in short supply. Domestic iron ore exploration is low level and in shallow depth, most of the deposits exploration depth within 500 meters. In order to find more of iron ore resources, it's important to develop metallogenic theory, summary metallogenic models and exploration methods. finding the theories and methods of accurately forecast the concealed deposit seems a long way to go.South-central sections of the three rivers region is one important ore concentration district in china, the region's mineral resources is very rich, iron ore is no exception. The region has some large iron ore, such as Tengchong Diantan and Lancang Huimin, but most of those iron ore are found in last century, this region still has great potential for deep explorationThis article Systematic collected the South-central sections of the three rivers region's geological and geophysical data, new understand the area's geological structure and the distribution of magmatic rocks and metamorphic rocks. Combined with the regional iron features and geological structure, This paper first divided the area of Iron ore belt, summed up the region's iron ore types and metallogenic regularity. For the two typical kinds of iron ore (DianTan skarn-type and Huimin reworked volcanic deposits) this paper established mineralization model, According to mineralization model, this paper extract a variety of prospecting logo, established the two types of iron ore's comprehensive information Prospecting model.Magnetic field survey is the most effective geophysical methods to find iron ore. This paper researched the method of using magnetic survey data to forecast the deep iron ore, summarizes the method of quantitative and semi-quantitative interpretation and the problem should pay attention to. Theoretical study into practice is the most important thing, this paper try to use the results of the regional metallogeny and deep concealed magnetic iron ore exploration method to predict a skarn iron ore in South-central sections of the three rivers region. The paper established the region's geological and geophysical models. combined with comprehensive analysis of the geological, aeromagnetic, ground magnetic information, we identified a most promising magnetic anomaly, and use the 2.5D fitting Inversion method to understand the ore body's shape and depth.
