Jing 11 fault block is a water drive sandstone reservoir. It has been subdivided and stabilized of the oil level control to adjust the water for three times during over 30 years of development since 1979, which has went to later stage with high water cut and high recovery percentage. More and more problems the well faces hindered further recovery due to imperfect injection-production system, formation of large pores, poor flood effectiveness, and complex remaining oil distribution, etc. novel technology and methodology should be taken to improve and enhance recovery effectiveness, and insure sustainable development of Jing 11 fault block by adaptations of"re-knowing underground knowledge system and re-build well pattern structure to re-organize process measures".Based on the novel process measures, this paper evaluated the development of reservoir through conducting systematic studies on geologic characteristics of Jing 11 fault block, and analysis on main methods and recovery feature during different development stages. This paper also analyzed causes types, plane and vertical distribution dynamic of remaining oil, resulted in clear potential objectives. Finally, development of technical countermeasures were applied in field, and the efficacy was assessed.Our results suggested that remaining oil distribution should be surveyed by various measures, particularly for long historical well which is under high water-cut stage and with complex oil-water relations. As multi-layer sandstone reservoir, Jing 11 fault block has complicated geologic characteristics, intensive well pattern and uneven distribution of formation pressure. To recover well like Jing 11, applications of perfect flooding network and large pore sealing technology achieved significant results, while technology of horizontal well did not adapted to it. Rational and effective water injection can increase recovery ratio, including various water injection structure adjustment such as perfect flooding network, drilling horizontal wells, and large pore closure.
