After collecting and reading extensively the reports on landslide engineering home and abroad, the writer addressed systematically himself to research development history, current research situation and the latest theory study results. Different analyzing methods of landslide stability are generalized systematically and their virtues and shortcomings are evaluated respectively.This paper deals with the case of Chenliang Mountain in Shitai County Anhui province. By investigating and analyzing comprehensively its environment engineering geology conditions, at the same time according to its geology conditions, characteristics and forming mechanism, I try to analyze quantitatively and evaluate its stability using the latest strength reduction FEM technique and program for the first time. Besides, artificial neural network theory and program are applied to predict the slope's stability. This method--the latest strength reduction FEM technique and program makes landslide stability analysis and forecast work more visualized and convenient and complicated calculating process simple and improves the work efficiency. At last, according to the geology characteristics of the case, the curing proposals of this landslide are put forward.
