Ecosystem not only provides food, medicine and other materials for the agriculture and industry, what's more important, it also supports and maintains the life supporting system of the earth such as keeping the cycle of biology, chemistry and water, maintaining the diversity of species, purifying the environmental pollution, balancing and regulating the atmosphere, etc. These functions of ecosystem are the base for the human's living and the modem civilization. Although science and technology can influence them, they can't take place of these functions. With the deeper research on the mechanism of the sustainable development, people find that the key to realize the sustainable development is maintaining these functions of the ecosystem. However the value of ecosystem service, which is located on the land and embodied in the resource and environment, has not been known fully for a long time. Even in the condition of market economy people only care about the direct economical value of resource and environment and rarely consider the value of ecological service, as is reflected in the phenomenon that the assessment system of the economical value for land use is relatively perfect while for the ecological value it's still restrained in qualitative analysis. So it is important and significant to research the quantitative change of ecological service value in LUCC(Land Use/ Land Cover Change) for the ecological health and ecological security.This paper is supported by the item of National Natural Science Foundation of China (No.40371003), LUCC and quantitative analysis of ecological security in the region of weak ecological environment in the west of China. It calculates the ecological service value and analyzes the change of the value in the LUCC basing on the theories of geography, ecology and ecological economics as well as the sustainable development theory, supported by the technology of GIS and the model for evaluating the value of the ecological service.This paper consists of four parts. The first part, including chapter 1 and chapter 2, generalizes the research background, trendy, basic theory and method in additional of author's general design and the technological routine of writing the paper.Then the second part, from chapter 3 to chapter 7, is the main part of the paper inwhich the author calculates the ecological service value of different ecosystems in different period in the city proper and the suburban district of the Tongchuan City.The third part of this paper, chapter 8, constructs an account of ecological service value for Tongchuan city ecosystem using the result it obtains from the former parts. At the same time it analyzes the difference of the ecological value among the four different ecosystems, between the city proper and the suburban district of this city.The last part mainly generalizes the main results, points out the deficiency in the research and directs the orientation which we should continue in the next research.All the results in this paper mainly include the followings:?The net productive of the forest ecosystem, orchard ecosystem, cropland ecosystem and grass ecosystem is 6.083 t/hm2 ? a~ 14.062 t/hm2â– ? a> 4.258 t/hm2 ? a~ 9.843 t/hm2 ? a^ 3.8542 t/hm2 ? a~9.1107 t/hm2 ? a ,2.433 t/hm2 ? a~5.625 t/hm2 ? a respectively in the region from 1993 to 2003. From these figures We can conclude that the net productive of the same ecosystem is very different in different periods , in the same period the net productive in different ecosystems is not the same, even in the same time the same ecosystem has difference in itself for the different components and the different density. Basing on the net productive, this paper calculates the value with the method of energy substitution.?Supported by GIS, it calculates the quantity of the potential land erosion, the realistic land erosion and the maintained land per hectare in different periods in different ecosystems with the USLE and the value of all factors which are decided according to the specific situation of this region. The results indicate that the quantitative difference among the values of different ecosystems in different periods is distinct because of the change of climate, area of the land types and other factors. The maintained land quantity, from 1993 to 2003, varies every year, the minimum is 3,490,000 tons while the maximum is 18,300,000 tons.(3)It obtains the material volume of supporting water resource in this region from 1993 to 2003 using the model of calculating the quantity of supporting the water resource, then works out the value with the method of using the cost of a dam.?Basing on the theory of photosynthesis and using the methods of planting forest cost, it gets the quantity of oxygen and carbine oxide which is given off and absorbed respectively by this ecosystem and the corresponding value.?According to the theory of ecosystem's purifying the polluted materials and the...
