The Auto-Plotting Method Research Of Geologic Section

Geologic section is the most intuitionistic and effectual expression of geologic stratum. Geologic section mostly cooperate with geographic map to understanding geologic panorama in mining area. It is one of the gists of mining design. We can understand rock stratum extending distributing and tectonic characteristic more clearly by geologic section. It can direct mineral resources and engineering geologic surveying. It has important significance to understand all kinds of geologic body and geologic condition and distribution.Presently, geologic section is mostly drew by handcraft or by some software such as CAD or Excel linking with some program languages. However, the traditional handcraft method is so inefficient that it cannot meet with OA in the management on geologic setting and engineering construct. By CAD technology, it can improve the degree of automatization, yet lacking of GIS function such as special analysis and topology. The appear of geographic information system bring new chance for geologic operator. GIS is a modern advanced technologycombine computer graphics with database, memory and deal with special information. It can combine geographic cooperation of geologic body with geologic attribute, according to all kinds of need to output graphics accurately. At the same time, its special analysis function and graphics expression function help geologic operator to make diversified assistant decision analysis. It is an advanced measure has exceeded traditional method on resolving geologic questions.This paper main research the automatic generate method of geologic section with GIS. On the basis of actual measurement drill data and correlative information of geologic structure, it study and conclude some general ways of drawing section, analysis the data structure and the steps of automatic generating geologic section. It also describe some method of auto-plotting geologic structure such as fault and fold on section, and arithmetic of filling lithology symbols. According to the theories, this paper realized automatic generating of geologic section with object-oriented program design method.
