Deformation monitoring is always an important work of engineering survey. It ensures buildings and constructs against dangers, prevents geological disasters, and monitors dams and bridges. With the development of deformation monitoring techniques, more and more ways of deformation monitoring appears. And higher demands for deformation monitoring are raised, such as automatism degree, survey precision etc. As one of the most advanced techniques, GPS surveying technique is extended to many fields such as dams, dilapidations, landslips etc.The traditional GPS surveying technique in deformation monitoring has many advantages. However, it's difficult to popularize because of its high investment. GPS multi-antenna array deformation monitoring system, which is named GAMS emerges as the times require. It's an automatic GPS deformation monitoring system which can reduce the investment greatly. We can use this system automatically and cheaply.This thesis introduces the principium and researching purport of the system, and attaches importance to the mathematical models and the construction of the web database. The comprehensive design of the system is also introduced in detail. Based on the application of the system to Manwan dam and landslip deformation monitoring, monitoring results are analyzed and some beneficial conclusions are given, according to some monitoring data. The result indicates that the system runs steadily and automatically. Considering its high precision and low investment, we are certain that it is practical and has broad prospect.
