Alone with the development of Database Management System(DBMS), it's the primary stream to develop spatial database on Objected-relation Database Management System(ORDBMS).Based on a thorough study of the primary aspects relating to massive data storage management, such as underlie DBMS, spatial index, spatial SQL and spatial data model, the paper proposes the idea of storing and managing massive spatial data founded on PostgreSQL.Focusing on this approach, this paper carries out the following research contents:1) A comprehensive research of the architecture of spatial database in which the author elaborately analysis the role of each side relating to spatial database.
