Not only guided by the new concept of meshwork-carpet type oil and gas pool-forming system but also based on variety of theories and technologies, the storage layers character of meshwork-carpet type oil and gas pool-forming system in Dongying depression was studied, and got the conclusions as follows: On basis of sequence stratigraphy analysis, the concept of meshwork-carpet type oil and gas pool-forming system had successful application in searching for meshwork-carpet which had been proved to occur in shallow layers in Dongying depression. Furthermore, the structure of storage layers was made off and their elements were analyzed in detail which contain 3 series, one in Es2下and the other two in Es3上. The structures of them were described both in ichnography and section. The sedimentary model of 3 storage layers were also built based on the sedimentary facies of them. By means of the study on porosity and permeability, the heterogeneous was characterized. The modeling experiment result emphasized the transverse migration ability of the hydrocarbon in storage layers.On quantitative evaluation, storage quality coefficient was presented to describe storage layers quantitatively, and the general method from the statistical result of petroleum migration was summarized, i.e. the storage capability has correlation with the thickness mostly, and the lower limits of 3 storage layers were given. The petroleum pool character of storage layers consist itself and the accumulation meshwork layers, and the latter include primary reservoir and secondary reservoir.Finally, the author pointed out the exploration direction: stratigraphic oil and gas reservoir in storage layers skirt, structural oil and gas reservoir in complicated structural belt, anticline oil and gas reservoir in sag and gentle slope belt, structural-lithologic oil and gas reservoir in storage layers and accumulation meshwork layers.
