In recent years, along with the fast development of GIS, the people's need for the spatial data also enlarges increasingly, blending with the embedded technique and the GIS together, becoming an embedded geography spatial information platform is an important trend to the current GIS studies. The most basic and the most direct expression method, which GIS provide the geographic information to the customer, is the visualization of the spatial data, the main contents of this text is the visualization of the spatial data which based on an embedded real-time operating system named VxWorks.MEGIS that this text studies is a GIS based on an embedded operating system named VxWorks. It combined embedded technique, computer technique, technique of GIS, the satellite fixed position technique, and the communication technique together, provided our army with the geography information.Firstly, this text analyzed the background of technique and the conditions of present research of the embedded geography information system, studied to the characteristic of the software and hardware of the embedded geography information system. Put forward on the method of visualization of spatial data which based on embedded real-time operating system, and the design of MEGIS's total structure, carried out the method of which this system control its entire module, and the method of visualization of spatial data module of MEGIS, includes the double buffering technology under the environment of VxWorks, the map's partly rendering, the data's dynamic load and unload and etc. And next, this text introduced how the symbols of MEGIS is designed and realized. This text resolved the problem of visualization of spatial data which based on embedded real-time operating system.
