The urban areas are the economy, culture and transportation centers of a country or region. The civil construction and programming needs the current and large scale maps and other spatial information products to support it. This paper focuses on the rapid orientation of the high-resolution RS images, the automatic obtaining of the construction elevation based on the plane information, and the image registration approach. The main work of the paper is summarized as follow:1. Due to the effortless acquisition of the relative control conditions, the methods of image parameters calculation based on the relative control conditions are put forward, and the relevant analytical expressions are derived as well. Then parts of the parameters are automatic calculated in virtue of the line extraction.2. Ameliorate the VLL approach. Based on that, the automatic obtainment of the elevation data is realized by utilizing the current constructions plane information and high-resolution RS images.3. An automatic image registration method based on the statistic of the grad magnitude is put forward and carried out. Its feasibility has been validated by the artificial and actual image test.
