Reliability optimization has attracted many researchers since 1960 due to reliabil-ity's critical importance in various kinds of systems. In recent years, reliability opti-mization has been developed a lot, meanwhile, applied to various kinds of fields in ourlife.Providing redundancy is one of the two ways to improve system reliability. Forsome redundancy components, there exists two ways to provide component redun-dancy: parallel and standby. Both types of the redundancy optimization problems areto determine the optimal numbers of redundant elements for each component so as tomaximize the system performances subject to some constraints. In the past decades, considerable work has been done for the redundancy optimization problems. However, the systems considered are usually series-parallel or k-out-of-n, and contain either par-allel redundant components or standby ones respectively. In practice, the componentsof redundancy systems are connected with each other neither purely in series nor inparallel, but in some other logical configurations. Therefore, in this thesis we considera system containing both parallel and standby redundant components. This thesis is organized as follows: after the introduction, we will introduce re-dundancy optimization problems. Then we integrate fuzzy simulation and genetic al-gorithm(GA) to design an intelligent algorithm to solve optimization models. Afterthat, we will give a numerical experiment to reveal the effectiveness of the hybrid in-telligent algorithm. In brief, this thesis brings the following two new ideas: (i) Hybridredundancy system is firstly considered; (ii) Some models for hybrid redundancy opti-mization are given to solve the problem.
