In this paper, three common practical engineering systems is given that is parallel system, hierarchical series-parallel system and bridge network system. The relevant reliability models are established. LINGO and MATLAB genetic algorithm is applied to the models’ optimization and simulation, which provides design methods for reliability optimization problems of common practical engineering systemsIn chapter2, by introducing the hybrid hazard rate based on the concept of age reduction factor and failure rate increased factor for the parallel system, Two preventive maintenance optimization models where the reliability and the cost can be taken as objective functions respectively in the finite interval are built. An example is given according to the model, the system’s maintenance strategy optimization and simulation is researched by MATLAB Genetic Algorithms.In chapte3, a hierarchical series-parallel structure system is given and redundancy is designed for subsystem and the reliability optimization model is established. Finally, the example is given and solved by LINGO programming and the optimal results is obtained. The example verifies the efficiency, effectiveness and convenience of LINGO software in solving reliability optimization problems, which provides a quick solution for reliability engineering design optimization in practical problems.Chapter4is based on Chapter3, for bridge network system with optional designs, the Integration of concurrent design problems of subsystem’s reliability index and the number of redundant is raised and the corresponding optimization model is established. Matlab genetic algorithm is applied to complex system optimal allocation of reliability and redundancy that is a mixed problem of nonlinear continuous variable and discrete variable,which provides a design method for the network system in the actual problem. Finally, the example results verify the effectiveness and practicality of the model.Finally, we summarize the contents of the article and give some prospect of the paper.
