Based on the past records and work,assessment of mineral resource were studied in this paper and especially emphasis is given to reserves forecasting with Monte Carlo method. A soft ware are designed and compiled with Visual Basic computer language. The design of implementation arithmetic and interface are developed and the key implementation technologies, pseudorandom numbers and random sampling for Monte Carlo method are achieved. The applied to the appraisal of resources in real regions, Hebei province, and the practical examples on the foundation of the existing geology setting are cited in this paper and the potential reserve of gold deposit.The quantitative appraisal fruits of the mineral resources are deemed to be the important bases for the making of state energy policies and the compilation of mineral development plans. But the scale of resources usually depends on the influence of various factors like geological back grounds, exploration extent, exploration technology and economic conditions. And the above factors change with the changes of time and level of understanding. The quantitative assessment of mineral resource take the undiscovered mineral resources as target by means of prospects or tracts, and their main contents include how to confirm the space distribution of undiscovered mineral resources and to estimate their amount for improving integrated analysis extent in work district . Monte Carlo method is according to statistical sample theory. To acquire its approximate solution, the probability and statistical tests of random parameters are made. As a matter of fact, mineral resources numerical values are a static expression of dynamic numerical values. Based on the related data, the varied appraisal methods for resources are contrasted; detailed statements are focused on Monte Carlo method, its application principles and characteristics in evaluating the resources of mineral.The content of the soft ware construction relates to acknowledge in many kinds of fields, such as geology, geostatistic, mutual science, software engineering, visualization in scientific computing. During the accomplishment of this paper, numerous researches is done on Mineral Resources Assessment and the arithmetic method, studying on the developing situation inland and aboard, experiencing the application and demonstrating the possibility of Monte Carlo method in the geological sciences field, what is addition, applied software that has been developed. The assessment of regional potential mineral reserves soft ware Using is based on geography data processing, analyzing data types and flow charts of visualization in scientific computing. It puts forward the model of Monte Carlo method of processing technology in Mineral Resources Assessment, and then abstracts a series of classes as data processing on the use of object-oriented analysis method.In the end of this dissertation, a assessment of regional potential gold reserve in Hebei province is simulated by Monte Carlo method with the soft ware. It comes to a conclusion that the gold reserve in Hebei goes biggish potential, and the probability of mineralizing is 1303.3 tons with 90% percent and 2496.4 tons with 50% percent. It attests to the work of assessment of mineral reserves using Monte Carlo method. The conclusion of the assessment study is a probability figure, so it direction the Prospecting work. It should be adopted different methods to delineate tracts and estimate number of undiscovered deposit, to improve the predicting precision and expand the scope of application.
