PIR thermometer is a kind of infrared thermometer that makes use of the pyroelectricity effect, it uses the blackbody radiation laws as the theories foundation, it is the outcome that the optical theories and micro-electronics learn a comprehensive development. Compared to the way of traditional temperature measurement, it has a series of merits, such as short in response time, non-contact, noninterference to temperature field, long useful time and convenient operation, etc.This paper introduces the basic principle of PIR and the method of realization in detail. With the technique that the IR thermometer's present stage as a reference, it put forward and develop a kind of measure system according to the embedded microprocessor of high performance ARM. The paper introduces the composing and the method of that system in detail, and gives the hardware principle diagram and the design flow chart of the software. The factors that influence PIR thermometer's accuracy and the related interference of hardware and software are analyzed in detail, and adopted to corresponded measures. The following work is done:The present condition and classification of IR thermometer are introduced elaborately, and the meaning of this research is pointed out; The principle of PIR is introduced; The way to measure IR radiation is presented; The ARM microprocessor is made detailed introduction, and the function characteristics and structure of the ARM chip LPC2132 is made a good introduction; The function of the total design project is introduced, The hardware parts base on this system are designed, and made elucidation to the function and the design way of thinking that each part complete; The software parts of PIR thermometer are proposed, the module of each part is realized in flow chart; the factors that interfere measures error are carried on analysis, the interference of the software and hardware are discussed, and did some anti-interference measures; The main research conclusion is summarized, the prospect of further research of PIR thermometer is proposed.
