In this paper, Eucommia ulmiodes callus was inducted and suspension culture of E. ulmiodes was carried out in 100mL flask.Different explants, media, phytohormones have different effects on E. ulmiodes callus induction. The optimal condition for the growth of E. ulmiodes was B5+0.5mg/L NAA+1.0mg/L6-BA+3%sucrose. The initial pH of medium is 5.8. The curve of the growth shaped like"S"and multiplication rate of callus was highest when callus were cultured in 18 days. And at the same time the content of secondary metabolites reached at it's highest level:flavonoids 12.25mg/g, chlorogenic acid 1.564mg/g.In the course of suspension culture, the effects of media, phytohormones, inoculum density, carbon sources, sucrose concentration and initial pH were investigated. The optimal condition for the growth of E. ulmiodes was as follows:1.6g?DCW/L, B5+0.5mg/LNAA+0.6mg/L 6-BA+3% sucrose. The initial pH of medium was5.52.The curve of the growth in E. ulmiodes suspension culture was also shaped like"S". The highest biomass was 6.8g?DCW /L, and the highest level of flavonoids reached at 16.63mg/g (113.084mg/L), chlorogenic acid 3.93mg/g (26.5668mg/L). Both higher than in solid cultivation..A non-structured kinetic model of growth of E. ulmiodes cells in suspension culture was constructed. This model primarily described the rule of E. ulmiodes cell growth. The equation of kinetic model was:...
