The Mesozoic basin in the eastern part of North China had experienced complex geological history and reformation process, and researches of Mesozoic were relatively weak. The study of statigraphic classification and correlation of Mesozoic was not systemic, and the distribution of Mesozoic is not clear. There are also different opinions of original sedimentary patterns in Mesozoic. Analysis of development features of Mesozoic is an important basis for the oil and gas evaluation and exploration in the eastern part of North China. On the basis of others'researches, and according to the theory of multiple stratigraphic classification, stratigraphic classification and correlation of Mesozoic in the east of North China are studied. With the study of geological background, the original sedimentary pattern is discussed. Researches show that, the sediments of Mesozoic were mainly fluvial and lacustrine sediments with volcanic rocks developing in a period of time. According to the regional unconformities of Mesozoic, five sub-tectonic strata can be divided of Mesozoic tectonic strata. The sub-tectonic srata'different distribution features were the results of original sedimentation and the following denudation. Affected by the Indosinian Movement, Yanshanian Movement and Himalayan Movement, basins of different types developing in different periods superposed. The tectonic movements also made the diversity and complexity of original sedimentation and residual strata of Mesozoic in the eastern part of North China.
