The study of Mesozoic fossils along Shandong zone in Tanlu Fault shows that there are both Jurassic and Cretaceous strata in the west of Tanlu Fault zone (including areas of southwest Shandong, Jiyang Depression), while only Cretaceous strata in the east of this zone(namely, east Shandong). In this paper, the theory of integrative stratigraphy is used to studying Mesozoic strata in Shandong, Biostratigraphy, isotope chronostratigraphy, volcanic stratigraphy, ecostratigraphy, lithostratigraphy, sedimentary stratigraphy, seismic stratigraphy and logging stratigraphy are selected to classify and correlate Mesozoic strata of these areas, the Mengyin Formation of Jiyang Depression and Laiyang Group belong to Lower Cretaceous strata; the Xiwa Formation of Jiyang Depression and Qingshan Group, Dasheng Group (southwest, east Shandong) to the Lower -Middle Cretaceous strata, the Wangshi Formation of Jiyang Depression to upper Cretaceous strata, the Fangzi Formation to Lower-Middle Jurassic, the Santai Formation to Middle Jurassic. In the basis of stratigraphic correlation, classify and correlate the strata and sediment characteristics, analyze the action that Tanlu fault zone controls Mesozoic strata. Cretaceous strata of Jiaolai basin spreading to North-East is the cooperation of Tanlu fault zone and Mouping-Jimo fault zone, Cretaceous and Paleogene strata of southwest Shandong spreading to west-north is obviously affected by the left-lateral sense translation of Tanlu fault zone. According to the distribution of sediment characteristics controlled by Tanlu fault zone, it occurred left-lateral sense translation in the late Jurassic and early Cretaceous and right-lateral sense translation from the late Cretaceous to Paleogene.
