To establish mineral lands database is an important content of the new round potentiality assessment of mineral resources. The goal is for standardized finishing the data of the known mineral producing area and providing information inquiry services for researchers and decision makers. Mineral producing area is the entity which has space location attribute. Distribution in space of mineral producing area is important to researchers and decision makers. Visualized query can provide more information which includes space location. This work builds the frame of mineral lands database in east China which is based on the construction guides of the national mineral lands database. The general structure and table structure of database is described in detail in the paper. This work independently designs visualized query system for mineral lands database on MAPGIS platform by using API function and VC++6.0. Oriented to special users" demand, this system has many functions which include global browse, spatial query, attribute query, statistical, attributes edit, choice basemap, superposition and graphics output. The interface of this system is friendly and people who are not familiar with GIS can also use it easily. Design and implementation of system is described in detail in the paper.
