Research On The Implication Of Digital Map Of Automobile Navigation System

Favorable transportation upgrades human's life and stimulates society's development greatly. With rapid development of transportation, increasingly strong dependence on the map is clearly embodied. With the impulse of the technology such as satellite localization system, PC and embedded system, digital map came out but failed to be used widely since it is based on PC and influenced by its volume, price and power source. However, with quantities of advantages such as convenience, little volume, slight data and close combination with modern communication technology and network, portable digital map not only can provide us with best service whenever and wherever combining with GPS localization technology and network, but also is widely used in economic construction and modern national defense. It has replaced traditional paper map in numerous areas especially in automobile navigation implication territory.The paper researches on the implication of the digital map of automobile navigation system which uses ARM component as CPU and Windows CE as the embedded system. As the simple Windows embedded operational system, Windows CE is easily explored by Microsoft with friendly users' interface, and as the world-leading CPU of the RISC minor processor (16/32 digit), AMR is the foundation of most powerful functional embedded processor. The design is able to make full use of the advantages of ARM and Windows CE, supply the digital map application system with an open and easy platform, and provide convenience for both the development of the implication software of the digital map and its maintenance and upgrade in later period.The paper elaborates on the construction and application of the digital map of automobile navigation system. In the article, some researches have been done as following:(1) The embedded hardware system has been designed successfully based on SAMSUNG S3C2440.On base of analysis of each module's function, the power circuit, memorizer, communication terminals and audio junctions have been designed in detail. Principles' design and PCB arrangement have been researched carefully. Through testing, the system can meet various function needs accordingly with strong operational function.(2) Windows CE operational system has been tailored and quadratic-developed on base of research of the embedded system Windows CE. Combined with the hardware design of the system, an open embedded operational system has been explored which can be used for kinds of application software' exploit.(3) The application software of the digital map has been developed through the utilization of the embedded operational system Windows CE. The software design of the third part-digital map has been utilized to the design of the digital map's application software which has been finished eventually and the digital map's construction method of using BMP map has been put forward. Compared with other software products of the digital map, the software is available and universally used in the digital map's utilization of small areas.
