As an important carrier of information, Images have been used widely in many aspect of people's life and can't be replaced. But some distortions will inescapably occur in the production, transmission and the record process of the image. In order to meet the needs of high quality of the image, the study on searching for the causation of the imaging distortion, the means of compensation has been proceeded to. Based on the light-tracing algorithm, the imaging distortion brought by the light refraction occurred on the boundary of variable-refractive index has been studied. The algorithms about space light refraction and transparent granule searching has been designed, and the transmission of lights in the turbulent air, the air bubble, the water drop and the rain drop has been modeled and analyzed. The main jobs of the dissertation include: Based on the refraction and reflection laws of space light and the geometrical theories, the formula for the light tracing in variable-refractive-index space has been deduced, and the corresponding fast and optimized algorithm has been designed with VC++6.0.The model of light transmitting through the transparent granule has been analyzed and built. And with this model, the imaging rules of the light transmitting through the turbulent air has been studied, the influence of the water drop, raindrops and the medium with air bubble on the imaging distortion, fuzziness, image contrast and brightness has been discussed. The experiment about light transmit through the water drop has been taken, and by comparing the experimental images with the calculated results the applicability and the limitation of the algorithm has been discussed.
