The establishment of the current basic cadastre data system in China, which can retrospect to the first land use investigation (detailed land investigation) at the beginning of the 1980s, aims at investigating the actuality of the use of land and its whole status. Based on which, the rural cadastre management focuses on purpose supervision and classification management of land use. In according with the cadastral system in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and other countries, a professional land managing department was set up by the government at the end of the 1980s, which launched on investigating town cadastre and developing town cadastre management system concentrated on property rights. However, the city and the countryside cross together in the joint area which leads to the rough delimitation and bad management. The combined action of the multi-requirement of cadastral management, the enhance of farmers' legal right safeguarding awareness and the implementation of the land use supervision in town area is pressing for a unified administration cadastral management system whose accomplishment is based on the realization of cadastre data integration—the unified management of the basic cadastre data between urban and rural area.Studying on the functions of the cadastral data in the process of the cadastral management, the current cadastral information system and the development of GIS technology in integrating the cadastral database, this paper demonstrates the importance of the integration of cadastral data between urban and rural area, as well as clears out its aim. On base of researching the GIS spatial data integration technique, analyzing the classification, source and content of the cadastral data, this article examines the content and strategy of cadastral data integration, studies on the quality control of integrated data by spatial and non-spatial integration technique methods. This paper gives a specific example of large-scale cadastral data integration in the unification of town and country process in JIANGYIN and practices the urban and rural cadastral data integration schemes using the specific integration technique methods and steps.
