The Design And Implementation Of IDL-based Remotely Sensed Image Database

In this paper, mainly through the research on the application of Remote Sensing Imagery Database and with the principles of establishing the Remote Sensing Imagery Database, the image visualization of information query in remote sensing image database is implemented by using Interactive Data Language, featuring with the image retrieval, read, display, processing and obtaining a series of information of the queried images by users.This paper discussed the relevant technologies of establishing the Remote Sensing Imagery Database particularly,such as image retrieval,compression and image block etc. According to user's needs,the design on query,retrieval,display and analysis of remote sensing image was focused on to highlighting the geographical characteristics of image. Emphases of the powerful functions of IDL was exhibited in matrix read and image processing.The data used in this paper was mainly from MODIS data in northwest and became the basis of the data system design after the process of pretreatment. Data was mainly stored on the server and image was transferred through retrieval by the path of system. In functions, the system achieved retrieval of the remote sensing image through time,resolution,the name of image,type of sensor,the grade of quality of image and range of geographical coordinates etc. Along with the mouse removed images could diaplayed the latitude and longitude of pixels of image; Information query was achieved using IDL to read the database as a matrix.The design and realization indicated that the image database based on IDL is of distinct functions which are not contained in other remote sensing image database, particularly the image analysis, display, reading the database tables and so on, had a great advantage. Accordingly, this system is a good example for making full advantage of IDL.
