High-density seismic acquisition is a new technology which was gradually developedin recent years to meet the needs of high-precision hydrocarbon exploration. Compared totraditional seismic acquisition, high-density technology is started from the full-wave fieldof non-destructive sampling, covering the distinguishing features of point-shoot, highdensity receiving without array and high fold. The effective wave and disturbing wavespatial sampling requirements is fully considered and noise abatement and stacking areused very well while processing in using the technology, so not only the signal-to-noiseratio of seismic data is improved but also the resolution. Recently, with the work goingmore deeper into hydrocarbon exploration,in the northern Tarim basin area, theexploration targets are mainly carbonate rock cracks, vuggy reservoirs and lithologic traps.Therefore it will be a key problem about how to improve the signal-to-noise ratio andresolution of seismic data. This paper define the core ideas of high-density seismicacquisition technology, the advantages and detailed methodology by investigations andanalysis on the features of high-density seismic acquisition and applications. Furthermore,combining the seismic characteristics of northern Tarim basin, high-density seismicacquisition and single digital detector are first used in the area. Based on the project thepotential of the further improving signal-to-noise ratio and resolution is studied. As a result,the application of the method got a satisfactory ahead. The resolution of seismic data waseffectively improved and the ability of describing small geological features by seismic datawas enhanced, which shows that the applying prosperity of high-density seismicacquisition in northern Tarim basin.
