With the field of industrial measurement continuous to expand and the measuring precision and speed requirements continuous to improve, traditional contact measurement has been unable to meet the needs of the industrial sector. In such circumstances, laser triangulation, as one of non-contact photoelectric detection technology, because of its excellent accuracy and real-time, has become a hot area of measurement.This paper describes the design and implementation of a displacement detection system that based on laser triangulation, using a charge coupled device (CCD) as opto-electronics converter device, and using ATMEL89S51 as the measurement core. The signal from CCD, contained objects displacement information, will be set into single chip microcomputer (SCM), then CCD pixel position information that be got accurately by using SCM measurement system will be input to PC, finally, we can get the object displacement. SCM measurement of CCD pixel position and SCM communication with the PC both are the key parts of the system. In this paper, firstly, we introduced the laser triangulation principle and designed the system's optical layout and the overall structure; Then, based on SCM measurement principle, we designed SCM measurement system that can measure CCD pixel position by using a reference signal produced by CCD shift pulse and CCD detection signal, and also designed some hardware circuit, such as CCD driver circuit, CCD signal processing circuit and microcontroller communication interface circuit with the PC, at the same time, we programmed microcontroller measurement program and SCM serial communication program using assembler language, and PC serial communication procedures and detection system interface using Visual C++; Finally, through structures detection system in the laboratory to tests mobile standard surface, we verify the feasibility of the system.Through analysis a large number of testing data under the different testing conditions, it shows that all the software and hardware designs achieve the intended objectives and requirements; the system work is stable and reliable. This system has a good prospect.
