The Conversion Of File Formats And Symbol Library Across GIS Platform

The thesis is relying on aerogeophysical information management system of Chinese land and resources aerogeophysical remote sensing center(below named as AGRS).Because most of maps in ARGR are stored in file format of MapGIS,but the current aerogeophysical management system is based on the ArcEngine development,therefore it's needed to convert the file format of MapGIS to the file format of ArcGIS.Taking into account the loss of symbol information in document conversion process,it also needs to convert symbol Library from MapGIS to ArcGIS platform.So,the AGRS raises the demand for file formats and symbol library conversion from MapGIS to ArcGIS,This is also the purpose of the thesis research.Based on the needs of the AGRS , The thesis deeply studies point,polyline,polygon,engineering file storage mechanism of MapGIS and ShapeFile,engineering file storage of ArcGIS.In the light of MapGIS and ArcGIS platform,the study proposes the design framework and two models of file conversion.The two models are Single-file conversion mode and Batch file conversion mode.Based on the demands of symbol library conversion, this paper raises three steps to implement the symbol libray conversion.The first step is getting the detail information of MapGIS symbol.The second step is reconstructing MapGIS symbol under ArcGIS platform.The third step is managing converted symbol library.The thesis is mainly based on MapGIS SDK and ArcObjects to do secondary development. The selection programming languages include VB and VC.Finally the conversion of file formats and symbol library achieve through programming.The file conversion is converting point,polyline,polygon file of MapGIS to ShapeFile of ArcGIS.and converting engineering file of MapGIS to ArcGIS.Symbol conversion is converting point,polyline,polygon symbol from MapGIS to ArcGIS flatform.The meaning is to manage and draw MapGIS symbol under ArcGIS platform.The thesis mainly state based on how to implement the file and symbol conversion and The result meet the initial demand of AGRS.
