This article starts with the research of the Viaduct on jinzhai Road in Hefei, introductions the characteristics of region geologic conformation in Hefei, which can be classified as:terrain and geomorphology characters,the lithologic characters,the hydro-geological condition and the geologic conformation characters and the physics geological phenomenon,etc.The formation of this area mainly includes:the silty clay ofâ‘ layer(Q4al),it distributes on the first terrace and ditch which is newly-deposited;the clay and the silty clay ofâ‘¡layer(Q4al+pl),it mainly distributes on the first terrace of fiver bank;the clay ofâ‘¢layer(Q3al+pl),it widely distributed on the second terrace of fiver bank;the red-layer ofâ‘£layer(K2), the lithologic characters mainly include as the calcium sandstone,the muddy sandstone and the mudstone,etc.It contrasts the distribution characters of the foundation soil and the physics and mechanics characteristics of upper part of the soil, then consider these factors to do a geologic division;it mainly considers the foundation bearing stratum of the Viaduct,and study the geologic characteristics of the clayâ‘¢layer and the red-layer ofâ‘£layer.According to the date of the in-site testing and the indoor testing in this area,we can get the natural bearing capacity of the foundation of the clay ofâ‘¢layer and the red-layer ofâ‘£layer;it discusses the engineering properties,such as the material composition and the structure,etc.it bases on the research of the physical and mechanical property, also the water- physical property,reveals the bad engineering efforts -the mechanism of the softening collapse of the red muddy sandstone,the composition and the structure characteristics make as its inner factors,the water-rock action and the weathering make its external factors.At last,it comprehensively analysis the results of the indoor testing and the in-site testing on the soft rock,then gives the designing capacity of the red muddy sandstone ofâ‘£layer in different form of rocks and different weathering degree.
