Landslide is a very serious geological hazard, it has been threatening the normal production and life of the people. Study on hazard evaluation of landslide gradually becomes one of the most concerned issues: the main method of such evaluation is based on the collection, analyses and process of geological hazard data, with the application of appropriate mathematical model, dividing the corresponding hazard into different levels, and then partition hazard the researching zone as a whole by the corresponding the grade of pre-alarm.In recent years, geographic Information System (GIS) resulted in widespread attention for spatial data management and the strong spatial analysis functions it is performing in hazard study, such as historic record of landslide, landslide space-time sequence analysis, the spatial correlation analysis between the occurrence of landslide and static & dynamic environmental elements, such as rainstorms and earthquake, and landslide hazard evaluation and so on. It has to some extent, supplemented to some existing shortcomings from traditional landslide hazard evaluation methods, such as subjectivity and heavy workload.In this paper, the method of GIS, with the combination of well-developed information value model and Statistic model has been applied, and Lanzhou urban as sample region has been adopted, the landslide geological hazard urgency pre-alarm system exploitation and application is studied. The following aspects are mainly included in the study:(1) This paper establishes landslide geographical hazard urgent pre-alarm and deal system databases of sample region, mounting the weightiness of susceptibility of landslide impact factor, and the effect extent of landslide occurrence factors are examined through superposition statistical analysis in order to reach the aim of urgency pre-alarm based on the spatial database.(2) This paper sets up a more integrated approach system and workflow of medium geological scale landslide hazard evaluation study based on GIS, on the base of in-depth analysis of existing landslide hazard urgent pre-alarm theory and application, and attempts to provide a little reference for similar studies using GIS in the future.(3) Based on the development of kinds of technology of geological disaster, summarizing present work, prospect the development of this field system and establish project of continue research.It is proved by practice that in comparison with the landslide hazard urgency pre-alarm based on paper map, the GIS-based landslide hazard urgency pre-alarm information system is faster and more effective. Urgency pre-alarm model can replace appropriate traditional method of hazard urgency pre-alarm so as it to improve the efficiency and the accuracy of pre-alarm assessment of geographical hazards.
