Kalatongke Cu-Ni ore district lies in east of Saerbulake-Sasekebasitao synclinorium in Junggar fold system, which is the boundary of Altai Caledonian fold system and Junggar Hercynian fold system. This area develops a series of second-order folds and subsidiary fractures and ten basic ore-bearing intrusive bodies, where a large Cu-Ni ore deposit, two moderate ore deposits and four small ore deposits have been explored. However, according to the calculation of present ore reserve in the deposits, the mine has been the moderate crisis one already, so metallogenetic prognosis work is very essential, which is to search for new resources to expand mine mouthball resource reserve, and extend mining age of the mine.Based on abundant quondam data, with exertion of geologic comprehensive analysis method, this paper analyzed the geologic and geochemical characteristics of intrusive bodies and ore deposits in this area. And then, this paper studied the genetic relationship of intrusive bodies in south and north zone in the deposit area, diagenetic and metallogenic model of the deposits, the regularity of space distribution of primary mineralizing elements and the migrating direction of sulfide ore magma in ore deposits, and further made a study on the metallogenic prognosis in deposit district with combination of present engineering control to the deposits and preceding data.Based on the preceding study, this paper has got some achievement such as:1. Through the study of rare earth element geochemical features of intrusive bodies, the genetic relationship of rock-bodies in south and north zone in the deposit area has been demonstrated, and a primary conclusion was made: rock-bodies in this area are the products of co-magma.2. Based on comprehensive analysis of geologic and geochemical features in the ore deposits and some quondam data, this paper made a discussion on the diagenetic and metallogenic model of the Cu-Ni sulfide deposits, and thought its forming progress like this: mantle-derived ore-bearing magma differentiated in the deep intermediate magma chamber, and formed into different stratified magma, which are different in the quantity of sulfides which they bear and in their basicity, and ore magma where metal sulfide is dominated. Different ore-bearing stratified magma intruded upwards one by one, stored in present host rock and ore structures, then superimposed with later intrusive ore magma and formed into ore deposits.3. This paper systematically study the distribution regularity of primary mineralizing elements Cu, Ni in ore bodies by ore-bearing magma liquation and sulfide ore magma injection in No.1 ore deposit and ore bodies by sulfide ore magma injection in No.2 ore deposit and its formation principle. And based on the preceding work, this paper made a conclusion that ore magma flowed from southeast to northwest in No.1 area deposit, and from northwest to southeast in No.2 ore deposit, meaning that the migration direction of ore magma in No.1 and No.2 ore deposit is opposite.4. By use of ore magma migration direction displayed by correlation ratio analysis of master mineralizing elements Cu, Ni and platinum group elements, in addition to space distribution of ore bodies, intrusive bodies attitude, present engineering control to the deposits and geophysical exploration data, two favorable metallogenic zones are predicted: one lies under the levels of 560-423m and the deeper part of reconnoiter line 20-8 between No.1 ore deposit and No.2 deposit, the other lies in the deep part of line 9-19 between west part in Y2 rock-body and Y7-Y9 rock-body.
