The Kalatongke Ni-Cu sulfide deposit is located in the boundary of Altai Caledonianfold system and Junggar Hercynian fold system, northern margin of the East Junggar foldbelt. Predecessors have done a lot of research about Geological characteristics, diageneticand minerogenic age, tectonic geology background, magma source, magmatic evolution, genesis of deposit and mineralizaton process since1978.This article focused on two views whether Kalatongke rock is isogenous or not, discussing magma evolution, petrogenesis and magma source characteristics through rockfield distribution, output status and size, petrographic composition and relationship betweenvarious facies, EPMA, rock major elements, trace elements, REE and Sr, Nd, Pbgeochemistry. The following are the main results:1. The rock types are biotite harzburgite, olivine norite, forellenstein, olivinediabase-gabbro, norite, diabase-gabbro, gabbro, diorite. And main rock-forming minerals areolivine, orthopyroxene, clinopyroxene, hornblende, blotite and plagioclase. Hornblende indiorite average crystal pressure and temperature is.57×108Pa、695℃, hornblende in basiteaverage crystal pressure and temperature is5.90×108Pa、767℃;2. It is gradual change between various facies in basite in core sample, whereas it isdiametrically contact between diorite and basite, diorite accidental inclusion in gabbro, andchronology characteristics of diorite and basite, kalatongke diorite and basite is not the resultof comagmatic evolution;3. Brown hornblende crystallisation is later than green hornblende in diorite, plagioclasereversed zoning and rhyme zoning in diorite may suggest primary magma occurred mixing, plagioclase normal zoning in basite may suggest primary magma is from a single magmasystem;4. Kalatongke basite main is calc-alkalic,belong to iron-basite. Enriches LILE,correspondingly depleted HFSE, Nb,Ta negative anomaly, Ba,Pb normal anomaly, Zr,Hf faintnormal anomaly. The different facies REE average spidergram and REE diagram indicate thatbasite is comagmatic characteristic and diorite is different from basite; 5. Nd、Sr、Pb isotopes show that it comes from the depleted mantle, Nd、Sr、Pb isotopescharacteristics is different between diorite and basite, diorite has higher εNd range andcoincident Sr isotope than basite, basite has enriched mantle EMⅡtrend, diorite hasenriched mantle EMⅠtrend.
