Biotransformation is a kind of chemical reaction of structure modification by enzymes from microorganisms, which modifies the structures of specific substrates. It has such advantages over chemical synthesis as high stereo- and region-selectivity mild reaction conditions, lower cost,as well as less byproducts and Pollution. In this thesis, different microoganisms were selected to biotransformation of 16-DPA. Penicillium citrinum was chosen to transform 16-DPA. Four products were isolated and purified. These products were respectively identified as 3β,7α-dihydroxy-pregn-5,16(17)-dien-20-one,3β,7β-dihydroxy-pregn-5,16(17)-dien-20-one,3β-hydroxy-7-methyloxy-pregn-5,16(17)-dien-20-one,11α-trihydroxy-pregn-5,16(17)-dien-20-one.Microtransformation of 16-PDA was selected by 22 strain. Absidia orchidis, Penicillium citrinum, Rhizopus nigricans, Rhizopus chinensis, Cunninghamella blakesleeana, Cunnonghamella echinulata, LN02 ( Helminthosporium ) , LN09 (Fusarium Lk.ex.Liseola), LN17 (Guignardia sp) can transform 16-DPA.
