Nickel Mine ore in Jinchuan is a world famous large multi-metal symbiotic sulfide copper-nickel mine. The poor mine ore resources accounts for more than 67%.In order to make full use of nickel resources, the research to enhance cost-effective development and utilization of potential of the low-grade nickel-ore is in urgent need. A systematic process mineralogy study has been carried out on the low-grade nickel ore in Jinchuan with the grade of 0.51% Ni. Also, the impact of flotation behaviour from beneficiation reagents and the adaptability of process technology on low-grade nickel ore dressing have been studied. The main conclusions obtained are:(1) Low-grade nickel ore in Jinchuan is copper-nickel sulfide ore which was strongly oxidized and occured in many complex mode.Nickel minerals were mainly made up of violarite which came from pentlandite, pyrrhotite by intense alteration and might not be floating well.(2) Relationships between nickel ore of violarite and magnetite are extremely small and uneven thickness of the very complex mosaic, so the recovery of ore beneficiation of magnetite must be strengthened so that the nickel ore can be recovered to the most.(3) Chalcopyrite was the main copper mineral which was formated with pentlandite of very small crystallite size collection, so that high-grade copper concentrate product was difficult to obtain and copper and nickel concentrates were outputed.(4) The content of nickel in chromite and serpentine were respectively 0.27% and 0.33%, so that the grade of nickel in tailings was high and the loss of nickel in the tailings was inevitably more.(5) Sodium carbonate which was used as pH adjustment agent and YBX and Z-200 which were used as combined collector were added in the grinding operation. CMC was used as a depressant which was added to the flotation operation. These agents and the way to use them has better adaptability on the dressing of low-grade nickel ore in Jinchuan. (6) Good adaptability of beneficiation process on low-grade nickel ore in Jinchuan has been obtained when the nickle ore was first processed by flotation and then the flotation tailings was under magnetic separation. The nickel concentrate products can be achieved whose nickel grade was 5.49% and the nickel recovery in all was 56.68%.
