Weather of arid and semi-arid Region of China is bad, the fauna is somewhat particular. Although with some foundation, the taxonomic study on Tenebrionidae from arid and semi-arid Region of China needs a comprehensive and systematic study. Based on the data from field investigation and the results of identifying specimens deposited in Hebei University Museum and other research institutes, we make a comprehensive summary of the Tenebrionidae from the area. This dissertation deals with biology diversity and faunistic studies on the Tenebrionidae from the area, also refers to distribution pattern, origin, adaptation and parallelism. The dissertation contains one hundred thousands words, main research results obtained are as follows:1. 5 subfamilies, 25 tribes, 79 genera and 490 species (subspecies) arid and semi-arid beetles are recorded. During the study, 3 new species were described: Centorus lineatus Zhang et Ren, 2010, Centorus medvedevi Ren et Zhang, 2010, Blindu curvotibius Ren et Zhang, 2010.2. The faunistic characters of 490 species on Tenebrionidae from arid and semi-arid Region of China are discussed systematically. The results are as follows: Central Asia genera(40)> Siberia genera(18)> Endemic genera(14)> Qinghai-Tibet genera(13)> Mediterranean genera(10)> Palaearctic Region genera(8)> Widespread Region genera(5); Endemic species(242)> Central Asia species(182)> Qinghai-Tibet species(16)=Siberia species(16)> Palaearctic Region species(15)> Widespread Region species(7)> Mediterranean species(5). Based on these results, we can get Conclusion: Endemic species are predominate, Central Asia species take the second place, while relative lack of endemic species. Mainly reflects two problems, one is origin of Central Asia, the other is local features.3. Desert and semi desert areas of our country can be divided into 9 parts: Altai, Tianshan, Ili valley, Dsungarei, Tarimbecken, East Xinjiang Basin, Tsaidam Basin, desolate Region, Grassland Region, summarying Tenebrionidae composition.4. In this paper, Wallace(1876)zoogeographical division of the world's system and Zhang Rongzu (1999)Zoogeography of China area are used, Concluded: arid and semi-arid beetles of China presents the geographical distribution of the trend of reverse distribution, as the plant species from the western to the eastern part of the increase in poor less Tenebrionidae species; Accordingly, the origin Decide the diversity, rather than on the amount of plant species.5. Comparison the region,s similarity with neighboring countries obtained: The Tenebrionidae fauna of the area is the closest to that of Central Asian countries in world zoo-geographical realm and maximum homology, infer the origin of desert Tenebrionidae center in Central Asia. According to geographical distribution of the Pterocoma Dejean and Manthichorula Reitter, Combined with geological information to draw: Pterocoma Origin Central Asia, Manthichorula Origin Alxa Region.6. Select the appropriate specimen, Observed external features combination of field observation, Analysis the adaption to the extreme desert environment from two sides of Morphological adaptation and biological adaptation, detailed analysis of the characteristics of Tenebrionidae foot and Combined with its ecological software spss13.0 for clustering analysis. Divided into rapid-type, medium type and short-Feet type, Concluded Moderate type is primitive type.
