We collected and investigated deposit discoveries and exploration processes, geological features, geophysical and geochemical anomalies of the main deposits in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and investigated the iron and copper deposit discoveries and exploration processes, and made the evaluation of the effectiveness and applicability of the various exploration technological methods. The characteristics of the ore body were summarized, and the main iron and copper ore bodies were divided into four types and six styles. Of which five different types of copper ore prospecting models were established. The prospecting model include: the geological characteristics of ore body, physical parameters of ore body and country rock, target bodies and interference factors, geophysical and geochemical anomalies, prospecting criteria, prospecting methods, combination of methods and processes. The prospecting models of the skarn and porphyry copper ore body were integrated, and a synthesis prospecting model for copper ore body in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River were established. In the synthesis model, geological features and geophysical anomalies of major types copper ore bodies in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River can be expressed directly.
