In order to fill up the blank region of 1:5,000 map in the west of our country rapidly, serve the economic construction more sufficiently, the 1:50,000 map blank region surveying project in the west of our country was confirmed as the significant fundamental surveying and mapping project during the national the eleventh five years. And SBSM decides to implement this project from 2006 to 2010 and establish the real 1:50,000 fundamental geograph information database which provide in time, reliable and suitable surveying and mapping guarantee and gis service for the ecomic construction and social development.This thesis find that the key solution of surveying and mapping using high resolution satellite image is to calculate the exterior elements of each pixel of the strip image through the information file which is provides with the spot 5 satellite image and to get the RPC OF THE RFM. Using the ground control points to make the regional adjustment, eliminate the systematic errors and improve the process speed.The key technique steps were found out through analysis and research of the basic demands, the technique indicator and the technique procedure of the for the DLG edition, the quality control methodology through the DLG producing courses were mentioned based on the analysis of the quality control elements with its characteristics.Based on the research of the 2000 national geodetic coordinates systems and the analysis of the content and the specifications of the transformation of the coordinates systems, the transformation method and the implement strategy were discussed.In the end the thesis selects the Sanjiangyuan area in the western blank region surveying project as the study case and introduces the technique workflow of the 1:50,000 map production which is verified feasible using the ground points to test the precision of the stereo models created by the satellite strip images and the DLG products.
