Reheating furnace is an important and energy-consuming facility in the steel-rolling production line in the iron and steel industry, and its function is to reheat slabs to the temperature required for rolling process. The automation control degree of the reheating furnace and methodology will influence such targets as energy consumption, steel scrap rate, steel output, product quality and so on directly. So, we take advantages of the advance automatic control technologies and facilities and research on controlling of the reheating furnace to improve heating efficiency and reduce energy consumption for steel industry.The billet's reheating furnace is a typical complicated industry system with seriously lag-lead, multivariable, seriously coupled, time-variety, nonlinearity, pure time delay and a lot of disturbance factor and because the temperature of furnace is difficult to measure, external disturbance factors. So the traditional control strategy is difficult to achieve good control effect. Combining with the practice characteristics of reheating furnace and taking the furnace temperature as study and control object, this paper puts forward a expert fuzzy temperature stategy for reheating furnace.This paper's content is just as follows:(1) Schematic of reheating furnace,arts and crafts, the study background and topics of significance are introduced. Investigation and application of temperature control technology on reheating furnace in foreign and domestic steel industry are analyzed. Research situation and the problems of the reheating furnace's control are also pointed out.(2) Firstly, this paper established billet's two dimension temperature model based on heat exchang theory and discrete space, and in accordance with the actual situation of reheating furnace made a reasonable assumption. Billet heat differential equation boundary conditions and furnace optimization settings are lucubrated and established furnace temperature optimization of the objective function.(3) The concept related to fuzzy sets are analysised, also the choice of membership function and calculation methods and so on are detailed analysis and discussion. A kind of optimal setting control method based on production targets is provided. This method adopts fuzzy control and adjusts setting temperature of reheating furnace with expert rules, realizes combination of modeling and control. (4) Optimal setting control of reheating furnace's simulation platform is desiged. The simulation results show that the strategy can achieve the effective control for rough rolling temperature of slabs, which achieve the desired objectives.
