Polyazomethines, which are also called polymeric Schiff bases, with unique structures, excellent physical and chemical properties. In recent years polyazomethines have attracted much attention as their potential application to solar cell electrode, optoelectronic conversion and electrochromic display device etc. In this paper,we have researched synthesis and properties of conjugate polyazomethines with heteroaromatic in their backbone chain. The main contents were researched as follows:1. 2,6-di(p-aminophenyl)benzo-[1,2-d;5,4-d']-bisoxazole, 2,5-di(4-aminophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole and 3,6-diamino-N-ethylcarbazole have been prepared and their structures were confirmationed by FT-IR.2. Seven novel conjugate heteroaromatic polyazomethines have been prepared by polycondensation of glyoxal, terephthaldehyde with 2,6-diaminopyridine,2,6-di(p-aminophenyl)benzo- [1,2-d;5,4-d']-bisoxazole , 2,5-di(4-aminophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole , 3,6-diamino-N-ethylcarbazole respectively. The polymers were confirmationed by UV-Vis,FT-IR,1HNMR. The thermostability was studied with TGA curves.3. The conductivity, fluorescence of the conjugate heteroaromatic polyazomethines were studied also. Results showed that heteroaromatic polyazomethines have good conductivity after doped. The conjugate heteroaromatic polyazomethines were doped with I2 and FeCl3,the conductivity of heteroaromatic Polyazomethines can be improved from 10-10~10-12 S/cm to 10-5~10-7 S/cm after doping, the conductivity increased 4~6 magnitude,up to semiconductor level. The heteroaromatic polyazomethines had good fluorescence, the best emission wavelength is about 440 nm,the fluorescence strength enhanced significantly after doping by FeCl3 and I2.
