On the basis of previous studies on the modeling of solidification process of castiron horizontal continuous casting, a heat-transfer model of double circulation watersystem cooling jacket was established. With the technologies of spraying water on thebar outside of mould, enhancing the preheating temperature of protrudent jacketchanging the materials of protrudent jacket and adding adiabatic layer betweenprotrudent jacket and graphite sleeve being take into account, a universal modelingprogram of solidification process of horizontally continuously cast round iron barswas designed by using the C++ computer language, and the program was checked viathe production results, literature datas and production records. The results showed that:the mathematics model and modeling method used in this thesis were reasonable, themodeling program was credible and universal, and we could analyze the effect ofdifferent technology and different production parameters on the solidification processof iron bars with different diameters.In the Windows system, the contradistinctive color was used to display the liquidphase area, primary crystals area, eutectic area and solid phase area, and theemulational color was used to display the gradual change of temperature of protrudentjacket, graphite sleeve and iron bars. The thrice spline method was adopted to makethe discrete temperature continuous, which effectively eliminate the "saw tooth"phenomena. The post-process of the universal modeling of solidification process ofhorizontally continuously cast round iron bars was achieved in the Windows system,which was convenient to the communication between human and computer, also byusing it we can intuitionistically analyze the effect of technology and parameters onthe solidification process of iron bars.In view of the state that cast round iron bars which diameter little thanΦ30mm isin the stage of test development, by using the program, the effect of the preheatingtemperature of protrudent jacket, the adiabatic layer between protrudent jacket andgraphite sleeve and the materials of protrudent jacket on the solidification process ofsmall diameter iron bars was analyzed, and the production techniques of smalldiameter iron bars were discussed, some production techniques were advanced asfollows: improve the preheating measures, enhance the preheating temperature, addadiabatic layer between protrudent jacket and graphite sleeve, select materials withlow thermal capacity for protrudent jacket and select materia1s with high thermalconductivity for protrudent jacket under the circumstance of being adiabatic layerbetween protrudent jacket and graphite sleeve.
