This paper mainly performs the research and analysis on the cutting mechanism and pressing mechanism of the cast iron horizontal continuous caster. Based on the finite element method (FEM) and applied software of ANSYS, the paper arrives at the result of the limited fracture load. The geometrical model could be constructed by use of PRO/E and imported to ANSYS in order to make up the physical model.After the model is divided into elements by 3D brick unit and input the material parameters, the solution will be done under the restrain conditions and loads. Finally, the stress distribution and related result is concluded. Based on the solution, the systematical parameter of HCC could be adjusted so as to achieve the maximum efficiency.The paper performs the parametric modeling using the programming language APDL of ANSYS, so the resembling analysis will be simplified and done easily.The reasons causing the vibration and the profiled bar revolving in the dragging process are studied by use of Virtual Prototype Technology. The paper performs the simulation on the dragging process and exports the velocity and acceleration curves. Compared with the practical situation, the accurate reasons are attained finally.The virtual prototype of cutting mechanism is constructed and kinematical simulation is solved. Through the data analyzing, the kinematical stability is researched, also the fundamental study is done for the future improvement of HCC.
