In order to develop some wastewater treatment processes with less energy consumption to solve financial problem in wastewater treatment plants, an inner circulation airlift fluidized bed reactor was assembled and a series of experiment was done with it.Based on Bernoulli equation, the energy calculation method used to design the reactor model can describe the velocity change in up-flow zone along with proportion change of area of up-flow section to the area of total section, can be used for magnification design of such kind of reactor. It was shown in tracing experiment that the model is with high volume availability, which means its structure is proper for hydraulics. The raw wastewater of the experiment was simulative waste-water prepared according to the character of municipal wastewater in Wuhan city. And the biofilm reactor was started up successfully. It was also proved that the methods, such as Start-up Under Aerobic Condition in Advance and Draining Activated Sludge Rapidly, do enhance adhering between microbe and carriers. The factors that might affect the operation of the reactor model were assessed through orthogonal experiment. Further more, some probably optimal operation conditions were recommended based on the data of the orthogonal experiment. The macroscopical and microcosmic kinetics model of degrading organic in the wastewater with low contaminant concentration in the inner circulation fluidized bed biofilm reactor were deduced. And the former is same as its counterpart in CSTR.
