Airlift Loop Reactor (ALR) is used for gas-liquid or gas-liquid-solid reaction. Researchers have studied the hydrodynamics and transfer characteristics of ALR from material characters, operational conditions to structures, which established theoretical foundations of ALR's application in industry. The combination of ultrasound and other technologies has been progressed in recent years, such as the combination of Ultrasound and Ultraviolet or electrochemistry to degradation organic contaminants in solution. But the combination of Ultrasound and ALR has not been reported now. In this paper, the effect of phenol degradation in ALR with ultrasonic probe placed at the bottom is studied. The major results are below:1.The effect of different gases (N2, O2and Air) on the phenol degradation is different. The order of degradation ratio is nitrogendegradation. The plot of liquid chromatogram suggests that intermediate products existed after phenol degradation since the ratio of phenol degradation is higher than ratio of COD removal.
