The mechanical characteristics of three common drilled shaft linings have been studied in the aspect of mechanics and structure by the combination method of numerical simulation calculations, theory analyses, physical simulation tests methods. The result showed bored shaft lining consisting of single inner steel sheet and reinforced concrete is a kind of ideal structure form. The mechanical mechanism and process of the shaft lining breakage in deep alluvium has been studied and it provides theory base for shaft lining design in future. On the basis of the fourth strength theory, the theory on ultimate strength of bored shaft lining consisting of single inner steel sheet and reinforced concrete has been discussed and some conclusion was made accordingly.
