Aluminum and aluminum alloy plate, sheet and strip are fundamental material in almost every industrial sectors of a country's economy. With the development of the country's economy and the reshuffling of market consuming products' structure, the new consuming applications have brought an ever-increasing demand on more and more high quality products. Therefore, the development of precision aluminum and aluminum alloy late, sheet and strip' has become a priority in order to meet the market requirement.Presently in this country, the breakdown methods in aluminum plate, sheet and strip processing, except those backward methods that are fading out, is dominated by aluminum strip roll casting method. But the manufacture of high quality and alloyed products is restrained by this kind of process. To solve this problem, therefore, the design and research of modern advanced hot breakdown rolling process plays a important role for restructuring aluminum and aluminum alloy plate, sheet and strip and answering the markets needs for high precision aluminum and aluminum alloy plate, sheet and strip.With reference to the developing trend in processing technology domestic and abroad, and by studying the market demand for product variety and quality, in this application, the author proposes a single stand hot breakdown rolling mill with double coilers. After the hot rolling, the material is to be further reduced by cold roughing and cold finishing mills. Theprocess route is: aluminum slab preparation, hot rolling, cold breakdown rolling and cold finishing rolling, and final processing. The total capacity proposed for this project is 100,000 t/a. Some provisional space is planned also for future development.The project by applying single stand hot rolling mill as the key equipment is an integrate production line aiming at producing high precision aluminum and aluminum alloy plate, sheet and strip, and featuring the shortest process route, the compact work shop layout, assured control over product quality, and high economical efficiency.
