Recently, with the development of aluminum processing industry, hot tandem rolling mill will be used in the aluminum processing industry more and more. The more mature hot tandem rolling mill in the world is1+4configure mode. The1+4configure mode features mature process,short production flow,big production capacity and high production efficiency and also low production cost. It can achieve higher precision of finished coil for key process parameters such as gauge, crown and flatness than other hot rolling mode.1+4configure mode is suitable for the production of high precision aluminum coil such as can and foil stock.Based on the actual project demand, the thesis design the hot tandem mill basic automation system and process automation system hardware and software in detail which has been used in the aluminum factoryFirstly, Basic automation system can be achieved through the combination of Profibus-DP and industry Ethernet.the Profibus-DP is used between CPU and motor drive, the distributed substation for the real time control and data convey.it improves the basic automation system real time performance and reliability. Industry Ethernet is used between PLC and up level system, multiple PLC, HMI and other system for data communication. It enhances the system communication capability and features high speed and compatibility. The thesis designs the basic automation topological structure and model of hardware and also clarifies the PLC programming and configuration method.Secondly, the hot tandem rolling mill requires more accurate process control while meeting the normal production requirement, the thesis describes the1+4hot tandem rolling mill process and each unit features, designs the process automation system topological structure and model of hardware and also analyze the control systems and control tactics for key process parameters combining with actual productionFinally, considering that the there are a lot of problems existing in the process automation system, the thesis models and sets up the key process parameters and also introduces the system model optimization software platform, through the design and application of major equipment setting calculation and major self-learning model calculation, the process automation system can get high control precision and control result.
