Self-assembly as a new technique for the preparation of organic ulfrafilms was applied in various research fields by more and more investigators. Self-assembled monolayer (SAMs) is a kind of single molecular layer which deposited on the surface of the electrodes and other substrate surface. The specific property of the monolayer is that the molecules in the monolayer have a common direction, that is, the molecules are well organized and oriented. The molecules are aligned on the surface of the electrode. Their head and tail groups can be clearly identified. SAMs have become a great interest among the analysts and many scientific papers are concentrated on this field. Some applications are in the field of wetting, lubrication, adhesion, corrosion, biocompatibility, catalysis, chemical sensor, and nanoscale lithography etc. Porphyrins were studied in the field of self-assembly for their special properties. These research showed gold results than others SAMs constructed by other assembly molecules. On the basis of this, we will introduce the molecules of porphyrins into the research of SAMs, and the physical and chemical properties of SAMs constructed by these organic molecules. For the good interaction of thiol-derivatized porphyrin with substrate surface such as Au electrode surface, we synthesized various porphyrin compounds with different structure. Many literatures reported the synthesis of thiol-derivatized porphyrins and drawn a accordant results that the synthesis of these porphyrins compounds were very difficult and cockamamie. We collected a lot of literatures on this themes and analyzed it seriously and provided a detailed project for the preparation of thiol-derivatized porphyrins and its SAMs, the application of these SAMs and so on. This paper is consisted by five paragraphs as follows:Chapter I IntroductionThis chapter introduced the contents on SAMs including the characters, classification, influencion factors, characterization and application; the research evolvation of porphyrins compounds including structure, classification and synthesis; the study of preparation and application of SAMs constructed by thiol-derivatized porphyrins. We also provided the prospect to the potential application of these SAMs in the electroanalytical chemistry. Chapter II The plan of background and collectivity notion for this thesisThe background was based on the former works by our and others researchers. We synthesized and characterized various porphyrins compounds with different structure. After this, we prepared SAMs on Au surface and study the application in electroanalytical chemistry of these SAMs.Chapter III The synthesis of thiol-derivatized porphyrins compoundsDue to the difficult and cockamamie in synthesis of thiol-derivatized porphyrins compounds, the research of these molecules in SAMs were partly limited and restricted. For the construction of SAMs on Au electrode surface there only need very little on the quality of porphyrin molecules. We designed a method to prepare these molecules according to the synthesis route provided by Alder in 1964.Chapter IV Preparation, characterization and application of porphyrin self-assembled monolayer on gold electrode constructed by 5- [4-(3-Mercaptopropy-loxyphenyl)] -10,15,20-tris (2-chlorphenyl) porphyrinWe prepared the SAMs on Au electrode constructed by 5- [4-(3-Mercaptopropy-loxyphenyl)]- 10,15,20-tris (2-chlorphenyl) porphyrin and characterized this monolayer by SECM and CV technique. The response of modified and bare electrode to probe molecules was obviously different. The results could be elicited by surface structure of the electrode. The formation of monolayer would be happen when the Au electrode was immersed into the solution contain assembly molecules of porphyrin. We also study the electrocatalyztion to biomolecules such as dopamine and ascorbic acid of the modified electrode.Chapter V The research of SAMs on Au surface constructed by thiol-derivatized porphyrins compoundsUsing the self-assembly technique, self-ass...
