It is efficient to manufacture the complicated special spiral rod by using the envelope method, but it cannot satisfy the requirement of the clients. The indexes of interpolation operation affect not only the profile precision and surface roughness of the workpiece, but the maximal marching velocity and manufacture efficiency of the machine. Aimed at the problems existing in the special spiral rod machining, this paper bring up a new interpolation, and according to the interpolation and its control arithmetic design a appropriative NC equipment of the special spiral rod .The interpolation applied in the special spiral rod machine consists of the design and realization of two modules. They are the control arithmetic module and interpolation module, which are the foundation to design the appropriative NC equipment.The control arithmetic module constitutes on the basis of the interpolation. According to the interpolation principle, the servo system of the line axis is a position following system, the rotary axis's is a variable structure system. The paper sets up the mathematics modules, and analyzes the dynamic performance and the stabilization performance of the system. Before the emendation the system cannot satisfy the requirement of the stabilization performance and dynamic performance at the same time, so the paper adopts the compound emendation strategy. First we make sure the dynamic performance of the system, then choose the appropriate compound signal to lessen the stabilization error. The servo system of the rotary axis will switch from the timing system of the spiral rod coarse processing to the position servo system of the spiral rod precise processing, so the paper adapts the slid model strategy to make the system realize the switch of the two control patterns.The foundation of the interpolation module is the finial goal of the paper. By analysis the problems lying in the data sampling arithmetic, we bring up a new interpolation arithmetic. The paper illustrate the interpolation arithmetic on the obligation terms of the requirement of machining efficiency in the spiral rod coarse processing and the requirement of the precise inmachining efficiency in the spiral rod coarse processing and the requirement of the precise in the precise processing, and we set up the interpolation module on the base of interpolation principle.The interpolation arithmetic will effectively improve the efficiency and precision in the special spiral rod machining, and it provide a new method of the special spiral rod machining. The arithmetic is simple, feasible, and have higher practicability.
