This paper aims at the application and development of Master CAM, which means the application studyin the four axis NC machining.It introduces CAD/CAM function of Master CAM software. Combined with Hunan machinery innovative design contest entries' corn threshing machine core parts with variable pitch spiral groove examples of NC machining, it describes a whole set of data processing process about how to use the Master CAM to pitch spiral slot parts modeling, produce tool path, simulatethe processing simulation, deal with what will be left after program processing and process practical parts,and it also solved the problem about the difficulty of manual programming and traditional processing to complete the variable pitch spiral groove machining,and make outstanding achievement in the filed of research and exploration of variable pitch screw slot parts four axis NC machining process and how to ensure the machining accuracy and improve the processing efficiency.First, it analysis processing status of variable pitch spiral groove, and it shape is complicated which requires a large amount of computation and the processing technic is really hard to achieve, it requires complicated processing, long processing time, but the accuracy of processing parts is also poor. The CAD/CAM function of Master CAM software is briefly introduced. Using Master software application to process NC machining technology with strong3 D part modeling function and simulation processing function which can automatically generate NC code for NC machining, greatly shrinking the processing time of parts and vastly improving the efficiency of making production.Secondly, according to the problems of variable pitch spiral groove traditional processing scheme, the characteristic of the processing ways for studying Master CAM variable pitch spiral groove four axis NC machining method, aiming at the corn threshing machine core parts with variable pitch spiral groove,the reasonable processing should be used to process, variable pitch spiral groove machining tool and reasonable cutting parameters should be correctly selected.The study of the modeling method of Master CAM to the variable pitch spiral groove, and the simulation process and the program transmission of it can achieve the aim to decline the time of its process and converting cost.Finally, the experimental results about processing the parts of variable pitch spiral groove,using the Master CAM software to generate machining program variable pitch screw slot parts,and four axis CNC machining center to process, which shows that comparing with NC machining, automatic programming of Master CAM variable pitch spiral groove of four axis NC machining appearently reduce the process of editing and writing time, and the risk of the handwritten program processing error caused by inconvenient inspection,it also ensure the surface quality and machining accuracy effectively, compared with the traditional processing methods, automatic programming Master CAM variable pitch spiral groove of four axis NC machining process can realize continuous variable motion processing, which provide the reliable basis for the practice of solving variable pitch spiral groove of traditional processing problem.
