The Design Of Large Taper Wire Electrical Discharge Machining's Number Control System

Wire Electrical Discharge machining (WEDM) has great importance in the manufacturing of mould, milling tools, parts of hard materials and parts of complicate shape for its strong power on machining hardness or high toughness materials and special structure. At present one important development direction in numerical control technology is more advanced performance and lower price.The paper mainly introduces the WEDM numerical control system's research and development that is studied in the item. The improvement and innovations are made in following aspects: author analyzes a kind of mathematic model in WEDM at large taper and puts forward a new interpolation arithmetic only needing the operation of integer addition or subtraction, which can eliminate the error caused by the mathematic model's unprecision and improve the machining efficiency and quality. This interpolation arithmetic can be used in the number control system controlled by single chip computer or industrial computer so it enlarges the WEDM's application field. This system can cut the object not only at large taper but also for top bottom different shape.On the base of the building precision mathematic model author designs the economic WEDM's number cpntrol system. This system controlled by single chip computer includes the hardware part and the software part. Author selects the standard and module electric circuit and chooses the chips which have more function , more integration and are much provided in the market. The hardware part include the electric circuit connecting with CPLU, the electric circuit communicating with super PC and the protecting electric circuit for suddenly power off. The software part divide into different function modules by the status when WEDM working. Author simplified the hardware design and realized the function more by software to the best of its abilities.In addition the paper describe the wire electrical discharge manufacture's basic theory, the machine's structure and the craft feature when manufacturing in detail.
