With the fast growth of national economy and the mushroom of municipal wastewater treating plants, the problem of sludge treatment becomes a hot topic, If not properly treated, the sludge might result in secondary pollution. At present, the disposal and recycle of sludge mainly centers around piling, landfill, incineration and composition, however, the drawbacks of these methods are obvious. Therefore it is necessary to conduct research in the treatment of municipal sludge by employing new approaches.Municipal sludge contains abundant organic components as well as inorganic substances. In this dissertation we focus on how to utilize and recycle the effective constituents in the sludge so that we can derive something valuable out of the waste. Firstly the physicochemical properties of municipal sludge are analyzed. At the same time the present condition of the treatment of municipal sludge is discussed and the study on the recycling of municipal sludge both at home and abroad is presented. Thus we determine the research object, namely utilizing the sludge more safely and effectively. Our study aims at exploring the mechanism of calcining haydite and the impact of different factors on the performance of the product so as to bring the related factors under control.Based on the polestar of decrement, innocency and recycling, a new recycling method is described. Study shows that the production of haydite using sludge and composition addition agents as raw materials could greatly eliminate treatment cost compared with calcinations methods. Attention is focused on the ingredients of eliminating carbon and sintering after having analyzed the ingredients of sewage and its calorie. At the same time, the application of haydite in the treatment of electric plating wastewater is carried out.The made haydite can be used as adsorbent, also be used as construction materials such as fireproof, sound insulation, thermal retardation and waterproof. Apart from these above, these products can be widely applied to agriculture, garden, and filter in water treatment. Therefore the production of haydite using municipal sludge is a new effective approach for disposal of it.
