| Nanometer materials have become hotspot researched by scientists all over theworld because of their unique functional characters in lately decade years. It is veryimportant to research transparent and abrasion-resistant nano-composite coatingsmanufactured by inorganic nanometer materials and organic polymer materials. Thenano-composite coatings can be applied for furniture floor and resin lens or eyeglassand other similarities, which need high transparency and high abrasion-resistance.First of all, nano-alumina aqueous dispersion was studied. It was researched thatdispersant type, dispersant dosage, pH value, disperse time, disperse means andnano-alumina concentration influence the disperse effect. The stability ofnano-alumina aqueous dispersion was proved by transmission of dispersion aftercentrifugal sedimentation and distribution of particle size. It was proved that theaqueous dispersion's transmission after nature sedimentation for 60d was 85%, whichwas same as that after centrifugal sedimentation for 15min in 4000r/min centrifuge.When condition was dispersant DP-518=0.4wt%, pH=9, nano-alumina content=4wt%, ultrasonic for twenty minutes, or condition was dispersant DP-18=0.8wt%,pH=9, nano-alumina content=4wt%, ultrasonic for twenty minutes, excellent stablenano-alumina aqueous dispersion can be acquired.Stearic acid treated nano-alumina surface. It was proved by infrared spectralanalysis that stearic acid can react with hydroxide of nano-alumina surface.Transparent and abrasion-resistant nano-composite coatings can be prepared bymixing modified nano-alumina with acrylic and polyester resin. As a best result,lacquer's abrasion-resistant performance improved 100% adding 15wt%nano-alumina. The nano-composite coating improved 1.75 times compared withPMMA base. The transmission of visible light was about 80%.Transparent and abrasion-resistant nano-composite coatings can be prepared bymixing nano-alumina with acrylic, alkyd and epoxy resin. As a best result, lacquer'sabrasion-resistant performance improved 110% adding 5wt% nano-alumina. The iABSTRACTnano-composite coating improved 3.1 times compared with PMMA base. Thetransmission of visible light was about 80%. Otherwise, the performance of rigidityand scratch-resistance was improved.The relationship of PVC between the performance of abrasion-resistant,scratch-resistant, transmission and rigidity was discussed. The concentration ofnano-alumina was PVC=2.01%, in which many performance of lacquer changedsharply. The PVC was close to CPVC=2.22%. So that, It was proved for the first timethat nano-composite coatings followed the CPVC theory of common coatings.Nano-alumina dispersion in coating was observed by SEM. Wear materials werechosen from resin to nano-materials. The coating's abrasion mechanism is conversedfrom adhere wearing to abrasive stuff wearing.Lastly, aqueous transparent and abrasion resistant coatings was prepared withaqueous PUA and nano-alumina aqueous dispersion. Lacquer's abrasion-resistantperformance improved 2.4 times adding 4wt% nano-alumina. The scratch-resistantperformance improved 1 time adding 5wt% nano-alumina. The rigidity improvedfrom 2H to 3H. The transmission of visible light was about 80%. |
