Several processes have been employed for gasoline "sweetening". Absorption of sulfur-contaminated compounds is the common method for removal of these sulfur compounds because of its high performance and relatively low capital and operational costs. The chemisorbents provide high sulfur recovery, sometimes down to the level of tens of parts per million. However, chemsorption must occur at elevated temperature for adequate performance. This article relates to removal of sulfur-contaminated from fluid streams of FCC (fluid catalytic cracking) gasoline. In another aspect this article relates to sorbent compositions (Zinc Titanate, Zinc Ferrite) suitable for use in the desulfurization of fluid stream of FCC gasoline. A further aspect of this invention relates to a process for the production of sulfur sorbents for use in the removal of sulfur sorbents bodies from fluid streams of FCC gasolines.Particulate sorbent compositions comprising Zinc Titanate or Zinc Ferrite support having a substantially reduced valence promoter metal nickel or cobalt thereof provide a system for the desulfurization of a feed stream of FCC gasoline. Exhausted sulfured sorbent was regenerated and activated before recycle.According to the requirement of desulfurization, optimizing conditions for preparation of the sorbent, including concentration impregnating extract, impregnating time, activation temperature as well as a set of suitable technological parameters, the reaction temperature, pressure and ratio of H2/gasolion (purging). Furthermore, describing the relation between octane number and above parameters. Under Ni(or Co)and H2 atmosphere, side reaction-hydrogenation occur during chemisorption. Octane number reduces with olefin saturated. Therefore, avoiding significant hydrogenation is also a key point of the study.Simply describing chemisorption mechanism of the sorbent. The results of study show that the sorbent has excellent desulfurization capacity under low pressure, down to the 100μg/g. Therefore, chemisorption will have wide application in improving clean gasoline and environment.
